THE British Superbike Championship 2010 is the highest level motorcycle racing in the UK and arguably the best national series in the World – and it comes to the Friendly Circuit near Leicester on the weekend of June 25th – 27th when you will be able to get within metres of 200mph+ Superbikes capable of going from 0-100mph in under four seconds.
The natural banking and short lap of just 1.41-miles at Mallory Park lends itself to frantic action-packed racing as well as giving spectators real ring-side views of all the track antics. In 2009 the most exciting race of the year with more than six riders fighting for the win was a spectacle to behold.
Tommy Hill on the Worx Suzuki is an early pace setter in the Championship ahead of the HM Plant Hondas of Josh Brookes and Ryuichi Kiyonari, the Relentless Suzukis of Michael Laverty and Alastair Seeley, Swan Hondas of Stuart Easton and his injured team mate James Ellison. You can’t count out the Kawasaki of John Laverty either – or the Suzuki of Yukio Kagayama, not to mention local favourites Chris Walker and Michael Rutter who are capable of taking wins.
An advanced ticket for the weekend costs just £35 compared to £42 on the gate, while a race day ticket is just £23 in advance or £26 on the gate. Tickets for practice on 25th are £10. Tickets for qualifying on Saturday are £12 in advance or £14 on the gate. Under 16s are free entry with an adult ticket holder.
