Former GP Star Chris Burns to ride at Race of the Year
Chris Burns is to take up a ride at the Race of the Year at Mallory Park on Sunday 19th October replacing Richard Cooper at the Co-Ordit Yamaha team.
Burns who has had a lacklustre season aboard the STP MV Agusta is hoping that this final outing of the year on the Co-Ordit Yamaha will yield a strong result for him and put him in the shop window for next season.
Cooper had been looking forward to racing at the friendly circuit however he has been called upon by BMW to take part in a test at Daytona in Florida. Cooper and BMW have had a successful season competing in the World Endurance Championship.
Burns will be planning on taking the fight to BSB regular Tom Sykes who will be making his final appearance on the Rizla Suzuki before moving to World Superbikes with Yamaha.
Another change to the race line up is Tristan Palmer riding the Hawk Kawasaki replacing Scott Smart. The last minute change will allow Palmer to show the Kawasaki squad what he is capable of.
