Mallory Park’s Race of the Year is looking
set to be another epic race weekend with 11 races set to run will full grids.
The star attraction will be Tom Sykes aboard
the Rizla Suzuki making his last appearance before moving to World Superbike.
It will also mark the team’s final outing as Rizla is withdrawing its
sponsorship so the Race of the Year will be a historic moment in motorcycling
for the well known Suzuki squad.
Recently crowned British Supersport Champion
Glen Richards will join in the racing antics on his title winning Triumph. Paul
Young, his team-mate, is hoping to attend as a spectator as he broke his arm at
the final British Supersport round at Brands Hatch.
Tristan Palmer has picked up a ride with
Hawk Kawasaki and he will be joined on track by Superbike regular David Johnson
on the Maxxis Honda. Chris Burns is to replace Richard Cooper on the Co-Ordit
Yamaha as Cooper has been called up to test for BMW at Daytona.
Ben Wilson who usually races in Superstock
will be adding to the action. Making up the bumper field will be British
Supersport Kawasaki rider James Hillier, National Superstock Kawasaki team rider
Kenny Gilbertson British Superbike Cup rider Luke Quigley on a Suzuki, plus journalist
and British Supersport Cup’s Rob Hoyles.
During the lunch break track activities
will continue with some demonstration laps from Loris Capirossi's 2007 MotoGP Ducati.
The Ducati will be joined by a Steve Parrish original RG Suzuki.
Practice will commence at 09:30 with racing
starting at 13:00. The Race of the Year takes place at 14:50 and will run over
20 laps
