Mallory
Park ready for the biggest bike festival in the UK
The
massively popular Festival of 1000 Bikes is due to take place this coming
weekend at Mallory
Park in Leicestershire
and it is set to be one of the biggest events to grace the Friendly circuit.
This
classic event is the biggest bike festival in the UK
and has become a Mecca
for small clubs to attend as their annual rally. Classic bike owners can take
to the Little Circuit with the Big View for some on track action. If hitting
the tarmac isn’t your thing then there is plenty going on in the form of
stalls, an auto jumble, vintage bike displays and parade laps.
If
a spot of autograph hunting is more your style, then there are plenty of big
names to track down. Ten-times TT winner and multiple World Champion, Giacomo Agostini, will be there
alongside Phil Read, as well as John Cooper and David Hailwood. The unique
Tul-aris GP bike will break cover at the Festival in the capable hands of
former GP star Mick Grant.
The Tul-aris is the only home-built, US-made Grand
Prix bike to set outright lap records and win numerous races, including a
national Formula USA Unlimited Grand Prix race. It was retired from racing in
2004, after the constructor, Dr. Robin Tuluie, moved to the UK to head up
the Research and Development Department at the Renault Formula One Team.
To keep the party going in the evening the ACE Café
Rock and Roll stage will be providing the tunes allowing the festival to rock
late into the evening.
A weekend ticket to the Festival
if booked in advance will cost £18 or £22 on the gate, a single ticket for
Saturday in advance costs £9 or £10 on the gate, while Sunday costs £12 in
advance or £14 on the gate. For advanced ticket sales please visit www.mallorypark.co.uk or call 01455 842931.
Mallory
Park is situated in the heart of the Midlands in Leicestershire just off the A47 between Leicester and Hinckley and easily accessible from the M1, M69 or M6.
