Buildbase Mallory Trophy is ready for round two
The eagerly awaited second round of the Buildbase Mallory Trophy Championship takes place this weekend on Sunday 20th April at Mallory Park.
With the first round of the Championship benefiting from good weather conditions and close racing, the second round is shaping up to be equally interesting.
Last time out it was National Superstock rider and local man Peter Ward who picked up the number one spot in the feature race of the day, the Buildbase Mallory Trophy Championship. He was hotly pursued by Steve Tomes on the RLR Motorsport Triumph and Michael Nibblett on a 600cc Honda picked up third place.
Defending Trophy Champion Mark Littler started his season with a fourth place on the ex-James Hayden Hawk Kawasaki, he will be out to make amends this weekend.
The winner of the EMRA 600cc Championship will receive a New 600 Honda supplied by Kestrel Honda of Coventry, which will provide the winner with a new machine to race in 2009. Nibblett, who is an employee of Kestrel Honda, has made it known that if he wins the championship he will not take the Honda prize. Instead he will donate the machine to a one off draw of all competitors that have competed in every round of this 600 Championship, the first name out of the hat wins the bike.
The six round Championship is held at Mallory Park throughout the year and provides racing for all classes. 71cc – 1300cc machines are eligible to take to the track along with Earlystocks, Roadstocks and Sidecars. There is also the race of the day which is the Buildbase Mallory Trophy to round off the action packed day.
On track activities start at 0930 with practice and the racing begins at 1045. The remaining five rounds run over the following dates - 15th June, 6th July, 31st August, and 19th October. Admission costs £12.00, free entry for children under the age of 16; parking and paddock are also free.
