World Motocross GP this weekend at Mallory Park

The high-flying antics and action of the best motocross riders in the world bursts into life this weekend at Mallory Park and the sixth round of the World Championship, with gates opening to the public on Friday evening.

Entry to the circuit is free on Friday evening so visitors can enjoy the traditional fairground, but for the more daring there will be extreme rides which are guaranteed to get the pulse racing ahead of the excitement of the World Motocross.

This is the first time a World level event has been held at the Friendly circuit in Leicestershire and will be a big bonus for the local area with the racing being broadcast and reported on worldwide. It is an event that will establish Mallory Park on the map as a world class motorsport venue.

Stars from the past will start proceedings on Saturday 31^st May at 0900 with free practice for the Veteran’s Motocross. That is followed up by the MX2 and MX1 classes taking part in free practice with the full blown qualifying races starting at 1500 with MX2 and timed practice for MX1 commences at 1630.

Race day on Sunday 1^st June will get off to a nostalgic start as the Veterans head out in morning warm-up. The Parade of Legends is at 1030 and that is followed by the racing at 1100 which is lead away by the Motocross Veterans. The MX2 races are at 1200 and 1453, and MX1 at 1300 and 1553.

Advance ticket sales have now closed and passes are only available on the gate, an adult ticket for Saturday costs £15 and a child costs £5, and for Sunday an adult ticket costs £35 and a child costs £10. The ticket office opens on Friday 30^th May at 1000 to 2000, Saturday 31^st at 0800 to 1600 and Sunday 1^st June at 0700 to 1600.
