What’s on at Mallory Park in July

The racing pulse continues to beat at Mallory Park this month with a splendid line up of motorcycle and car racing to keep petrol-heads immersed in their favourite pass time.

Following on from the hugely successful British Superbike meeting, the Buildbase Mallory Trophy Championship takes to the track this coming weekend on Sunday 6th July. This will be the fourth round of the six round Championship which provides racing for all classes. The race of the day is the Buildbase Mallory Trophy and it is supported by Earlystocks, Roadstocks and Sidecars as well as 71cc – 1300cc machines which are eligible.

On track activities start at 0930 with practice; the racing begins at 1045. The remaining two rounds run over the following dates - 31st August, and 19th October. Admission costs £12.00, free entry for children under the age of 16; parking and paddock are also free.

The biggest UK motorcycle festival - The Festival of 1000 Bikes - takes place at Mallory Park on the 12th-13th July. The vintage event has many big draws this year including the Tul-aris GP bike which will make an appearance in the capable hands of ex- Grand Prix ace Mick Grant.

Other big names from yesteryear will include multiple world champions Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read, as well as John Cooper and David Hailwood. Once the on track action has stopped, the evening entertainment kicks off with bands on the ACE Café Rock & Roll stage to keep the party going.

On Sunday 20th July it is the turn of four wheels to hit the Friendly Leicestershire circuit in the form of the Championship Car Races BARC National club car championships. The full race schedule will include the crowd pleasing Formula Ford 1600’s in a special one off race.

To round out the month of July is the Summer Festival Motorcycle Races on Sunday 27th July. The entertainment will be provided by the very successful new Thundersport GB series which encompasses  Aprilia 125 Superteens, Thundersport 600, StreetFighters, Powerbikes, Moto450, Junior Powerbikes, Sound of Thunder and the GP250 – GP600, plus GP125 – GP mono.
