Rutter racing at Mallory BSB; World Champion Roberts in Supersport

Michael RutterLOCAL favourite Michael Rutter will be racing at the seventh round of the British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park this weekend 17-19th July on the SMT Honda Fireblade. Reigning World Superstock 1000 Champion Brendan Roberts will also be racing in the British Supersport Championship on the NW200 Coca Cola Yamaha R6.

Visordown.com has reported the participation of both these riders today and they are sure to add excitement, interest and glamour to the racing at the tight 1.41-mile long Leicestershire track.

Rutter won a race last year and cites the track as his home event. According to Visordown he said: “It was a real last minute deal for this weekend. The Honda has changed a lot since I last rode it, but that is the same with any bike at the start of a season as the development moves on so quickly. I am pleased to be back as Mallory Park is my home round; it is a short lap so you need to find the right setting but you get lots of laps in to try and get it right!"

Roberts is a circuit favourite as well and is returning to action after breaking his foot on World Superbike duty at Monza earlier in the year. His talent is proven and he will want a strong showing on his return to action at Mallory Park.

You can still buy tickets to this weekend’s British Superbike Championship races on the gate at Mallory Park. For more information visit www.mallorypark.co.uk website or calling 01455-842931. Ticket prices start at £8 for admission to Friday practice, with under 16-years-age going free when accompanied by a paying adult. Listen to all the action on Radio Mallory on Saturday and Sunday 1602AM
