Are you the next Star of Mallory?
FORMULA FORD 1600cc cars will be able to contest the prestigious Star of Mallory title in an exciting new three-round 2010 Championship.
Previous Stars of Mallory include Touring Car ace Tim Sugden, Mallory Park local Mark Bryan and Scott Stringfellow, the son of the legendary night-club owner Peter Stringfellow who now drives the British Touring Car Championship safety car.
To be named the Star of Mallory is a high accolade and that is one of the reasons behind the reintroduction of the series by James Beckett whose other FF1600 projects include the Walter Hayes Trophy, the Formula Ford Festival and the much-heralded return of the Champion of Brands.
With the support of Mallory Park, the British Automobile Racing Club and the British Racing and Sports Car Club, the new series is sure to be a success for drivers and spectators alike.
Beckett said: "I would like to thank John Ward of Mallory Park and the BARC for his enthusiasm in supporting my ideas to return the Star of Mallory back to the track in 2010, and to Drew Furlong for allowing me to share my vision for development of Formula Ford 1600 at Mallory Park with the BRSCC.
"I believe that the Star of Mallory will prove to be popular throughout this season, and will establish itself as a strong one-circuit series where competitors can arrive and drive for the fun of it."
The Star of Mallory will start on April 18th at the Golden Helmet meeting, round two is with the Morgan Sports Cars on July 25th and the finale with the BRSCC on September 19th.
